Vi som kom till er är en utställning som handlar om flyktingar som med hjälp av räddningsaktionerna de Vita bussarna och de Vita båtarna kom till Skåne efter andra världskriget. Utställningen tar besökaren från nuet tillbaka till flyktingmottagandet i Skåne 1945 och vidare till minnena av nazisternas koncentrationsläger. Vi som kom till er är därför både en resa tillbaka i tiden och en resa i människors minnen och erfarenheter.

Vi som kom till er vill nu berätta!
I utställningen närmar sig besökaren historien genom överlevares egna berättelser, gestaltade i texter, bilder och filmer. Detta gör att Europas största humanitära katastrof ses genom individers personliga erfarenheter. Flyktingarnas egna berättelser vittnar om smärta, rädsla och sorg, men även om hopp, kärlek och styrka.
Hur närmar vi oss en annan människas liv?
Arbetet med utställningen började under våren 2021. En klass vid Katedralskolans historieprogram fick då i uppgift att med hjälp av källmaterial och egna intervjuer skapa en utställning som gav fördjupad insikt i historien om förintelsen och flyktingmottagandet i Skåne 1945. Den största utmaningen för eleverna var att försöka förstå livserfarenheter som var väldigt skilda från deras egna liv.
För att få inspiration i arbetet besökte eleverna Kulturens permanenta utställning Att överleva – Röster från Ravensbrück. Därefter studerades Polska källinstitutet i Lunds arkiv, som är tillgängligt online via Universitetsbiblioteket vid Lunds universitet, och innehåller över 500 intervjuer med flyktingar som kom till Skåne 1945. Eleverna gjorde även egna intervjuer; bland annat intervjuades överlevare och överlevares barn.
Vi som kom till er – ett samverkansprojekt
Under hösten 2021 och våren 2022 arbetade elever tillsammans med lärare, formgivare, filmare och hantverkare med färdigställandet av utställningen Vi som kom till er.

I Polska källinstitutets arkiv i Lund finns över 500 intervjuer med vittnesmål om upplevelser i koncentrationslägren, från flyktingar som kom till Skåne 1945. I utställningen kan du se filmer där skådespelare läser upp delar av dessa vittnesmål. I videon nedan ser du några klipp från filmerna.
Ansvariga för projektet är historielärare Marcus Karlsson och Louise Callmer. Historielärare Håkan Danielsson hjälpte till med elevhandledning. Formgivare Kristian Lindström, filmarna Marcus och Mattias Thernström-Florin samt konstnär/snickare Tomas Gilljam samarbetade med eleverna i den kreativa utformningen av utställningen. Magnus Eriksson skapade de modeller som finns i utställningen.
Utställningsproduktionen har till stor del finansierats genom donationer från Folke Ljungdahls stiftelse, Palmefonden, Sparbanksstiftelsen Finn och Thora Ohlsson Stiftelse.

We who came to you
We who came to you is an exhibition about the refugees who came to Skåne after the end of the Second World War via the rescue operations the White Buses and the White Boats. The exhibition takes the visitor on a journey to when the refugees came to Skåne in 1945 and further back to the Nazi concentration camps. We who came to you is therefore both a journey back in time and a journey through people’s memories and experiences
We who came to you want to tell you something!
In the exhibition the visitor approaches history through the stories of the eyewitnesses themselves. The stories are conveyed in texts, pictures and films, which means that the largest humanitarian catastrophe in Europe is seen through the personal experiences of individuals. The refugees’ own stories are filled with pain, fear and sorrow, but also with hope, love and strength.
How can we approach the life of another person?
Our work with the exhibition began during spring 2021. One class at the Advanced History Programme at Katedralskolan was given the task to create an exhibition which would give people deeper knowledge about the Holocaust and about the time when refugees came to Skåne in 1945. The basis for their work was to be source material and interviews. The main challenge for the students was to try to understand human experiences that differed completely from their own.
The students visited the exhibition To survive – Voices from Ravensbrück at Kulturen for inspiration. After that, they studied the archive of the Polish Research Institute. The archive, which is available online via Lund University Library, contains more than 500 interviews that were conducted with refugees who came to Skåne in 1945. The students also conducted their own interviews with, among others, survivors and the children of survivors.
We who came to you – a joint project
During the school year 2021-2022 the students worked together with teachers, a graphic designer, film producers and craftsmen in completing the exhibition.

The archive of the Polish Research Institute contains more than 500 interviews which were conducted with refugees who came to Skåne in 1945. They all record the refugees’ experiences from the Nazi concentration camps. In the exhibition you can watch films with actors reading parts of these testimonies. In the video below you will find some extracts from the films.
The people responsible for the project are history teachers Marcus Karlsson and Louise Callmer. History teacher Håkan Danielsson helped with student guidance. Graphic designer Kristian Lindström, film producers Marcus and Mattias Thernström-Florin and artist and craftsman Tomas Gilljam cooperated with the students in designing the exhibition. Magnus Eriksson created the models that are found in the exhibition.
The production of the exhibition was mainly financed by donations from Folke Ljungdahls stiftelse, Palmefonden, Sparbanksstiftelsen Finn and Thora Ohlssons Stiftelse.
