Kulturen's Christmas Fair (Julstök med julmarknad) is an experience for all the senses. Christmas food, decorations and crafts are on sale at indoor and outdoor market stalls. In the historical buildings, the staff in period clothes tell you about how Christmas was celebrated in the past. A Lucia procession and Christmas music puts you in a Christmas mood and you can buy hot food, mulled wine and coffee.
Friday evening is primarily for adults. Saturday and Sunday are for the whole family, with child-friendly activities such as Christmas crafts, dancing around the tree and a visit to Father Christmas.
Friday 29 November open 16:00–20:00
Experience the Christmas fair in the evening, as the museum park is lit up by lanterns, fire baskets and twinkling fairy lights. Grill your own hotdog, pick up some tasty warm food or a cup of mulled wine and watch as the St Lucia procession passes or listen to some live Christmas music. In a couple of our historical houses you can warm yourself by the fire and hear about past Christmas preparations..
Saturday & Sunday 30 November and 1 December open 11:00–17:00
On Saturday and Sunday, the Christmas fair continues with even more festive activities. Don’t forget to visit our historical buildings, where staff in period clothing are happy to tell you about how Christmas was celebrated in the past.
In The Måketorp Lofthouse you can see traditional craftmanship at work and in The Burghers House a local baker will show you how to make marzipanfigures and decorate ginger biscuits.
We also have a number of activities for children. They can meet Father Christmas in The Onsjö Cottage, dance around the Christmas tree to live music outside Bosebo Church and do Christmas crafts in The Ystad House.
You can also grill sausages, buy hot food and mulled wine, see a Lucia procession and listen to Christmas music of various kinds.
Our exhibitons are open as usual during the Christmas Fair!
